I went on a trip to Alaska with a good friend of mine named Allen and his good friend Brian. The guys planned to bow-hunt for caribou, I planned to shoot photos, and we all planned to fish some of the many streams and lakes along the way.

Our trip took us from Fairbanks up the Dalton Highway to Prudhoe Bay, inside the Arctic Circle, than back down to Anchorage. The Dalton Highway was originally a gravel road built to service the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Now that parts of it are paved, it gets a bit more traffic than the occasional tanker truck, but it is still definitely a remote area with no gas stations, hotels, towns... nada.

The hunting and fishing was not as great as we had hoped for, but the fun we had and the adventures we shared along that highway has us already scheming for our return.
